Main Objectives
Objective (1) ˗ Part 1. Solid ionic conductor.
Three-dimensional conducting pathways based on "lithium-rich" phosphidosilicates, phospidogermanates and phosphidoaluminates, present ionic conductivity of σ > 10−3 S cm−1 at room temperature that make them very suitable to SSEs applications.
Part 2 – MOF and IL loaded MOF synthesis.
Anionic functionalities induce immobilized negative charges into the MOF material, endowing the extended porous framework of a net negative charge. Charge neutrality of the framework is then achieved by counter-cationic species located at the pore space of the MOF materials, which usually are close to the immobilized negatively charged groups of the structure.
Objective (2) ˗ Battery assembly
The final objective of the proposal is the design of a SSEs for energy storage battery. Then, once the materials are well characterized and optimized, I will proceed to assembly the battery and study its final performance. I envisage that hybrid solid-electrolytes based on layered-structure of intercalated inorganic conductor and IL-MOFs composites can be designed to provide multiple attractive features.
Objective (3) ˗ Modelling and simulations
Compared to the traditional one-by-one approach, high-throughput technologies can generate a large and high-quality database in a short time at low cost.
